Nelson Bays Primary Health (PHO) News - June 26th 2008

Welcome to another edition of the Nelson Bays Primary Health fortnightly newsletter.

PHO News:

We are on the move!

We are bulging at the seams here at Trafalgar Street, so the time has come for us to move to larger premises. In mid-July, we are moving to a new location at 20 New Street. If everything goes to plan, we hope to be operating from our new building from Monday 21st July.

It is likely that we will be out of commission for a number of days during the week of the 14th through 18th July. We will keep you up-to-date.

The Nelson Asthma Society has a new Educator

The Nelson Asthma Society would like to introduce Jean Weary who has replaced Maura Foley as their new Respiratory Nurse Educator.

Jean commenced work on 18 June and brings a wealth of experience to the position.  Jean moved with her husband and two children from Cornwall in the U.K. to Nelson two and half years ago.  For the previous twenty years Jean worked as a community Health Visitor. Since arriving in Nelson she has worked as the Smoking Cessation/Quit Coach based in Nelson Hospital. Jean says “I really enjoyed the work but yearned to get back to my roots - community nursing and look forward to putting to good use my knowledge of smoking cessation.

Please say hello if you see me and get in touch if I can be of help to you.  I look forward to working with you all.”
