Nelson Bays Primary Health values the work done by so many of you over the past year.  We hope you have made the most of the summer break, despite the inclement weather, to re-energise for this coming year, which will no doubt bring exciting challenges to our sector.  We look forward to supporting ongoing growth and development within the primary health care sector.

The 'New Look' Falls Prevention Programme This 6 week education and physical activity session, funded by ACC and delivered by Presbyterian Support, is available for adults aged 65 and over who have had a fall, or are at risk of falling.

Participants will meet at Presbyterian Support each Wednesday at 10.30am and will be transported to other venues where necessary. The programme will cover such important issues as safety in the home, strength and balance exercises at home and in the community, a ‘taster’ of seated exercise to music, ‘Urban Walking’ experiences, modified Tai Chi for falls prevention, the option of gentle water exercise and a surprise activity/celebration on the last week. We encourage you to refer those older adults who may be at risk of falling, who may be socially isolated or who have already had a fall. Click here for a referral form.
