Expressions of
Interest

of Interest (EOI) proposals from eligible primary health care
providers and/or primary health care organisations or networks to be
submitted by October 14th.
Proposals will help deliver the Government's
priority for a more personalised primary health care system, which

Mental Health Awareness
Week Winning Ways to Wellbeing “Be Active • Connect
• Give • Learn • Take Notice”
5th to 11th
October
This year's theme for Mental Health Awareness week is
Winning Ways to Wellbeing. Wellbeing is a concept
that has two main elements: feeling good and functioning well.
Research by The
Foresight Project outlines five ways you can support your own
wellbeing and that of the world around you, including your family,
friends, colleagues and the wider community.

Here in Nelson there is a range of focused
activity underway to bring attention to what can be done to support
mental wellbeing. The lead activity in Nelson will be the Business
Forum on Mental Health that has been brought together by a range
of local business, health and social service agencies.
The Forum features keynote speakers, Steve
Gurney (athlete and adventurer), Bill
Wilkerson
(Co-founder and CEO of the Canadian Business
Roundtable on Mental Health) and Aubrey Quinn (from
the Like Minds Like Mine campaign). The aim of the luncheon seminar
is to develop greater insight into the approaches for supporting
mental health within workplaces in New Zealand, which is crucial for
supporting the health of business and our economy. It is also
intended to identify local business leadership in supporting mental
health within workplaces.

Advisor, Glenn Thomas.
