We are proud to announce the launch of the 2009 Nelson Bays Health Directory. We hope that this directory will keep you well informed and up-do-date with the vast number of services available in our communities which can help you meet the needs of your clients. We have so much to offer our clients and we hope this resource will assist us to work together more easily. Please let us know if you would like to recommend other services to be included.

This version of the Health Resource Directory was published in August 2009.  Information was correct at the time of publishing but we acknowledge that changes may occur past the print date.

New Mental Health Brief Intervention Service in Motueka

Pathways through parental separation:
The experiences of a group of non-resident fathers innovative practice fund. 

This report, authored by David Mitchell and Philip Chapman (C & M Associates (2006) Ltd), details a research project supported by the Families Commission through its Innovative Practice Fund. Ethical approval for the project was obtained from the Upper South B Regional Ethics Committee.
The project utilised a qualitative research process to uncover New Zealand non-resident fathers’ perspectives on managing a constructive pathway through separation from their ex partner.

Rural General Practice
Update on current issues

In March of this year, the New Zealand Rural General Practice Network and the New Zealand Institute of Rural Health instigated a meeting with a number of stakeholders in rural health, to update on current issues and to plan future actions. There have been three subsequent meetings. Read more here.

January 2010 Intake - Primary Health Positions

Applications are invited for this twelve month fixed term position, designed to assist your transition to practice. The programme provides a supportive environment and planned practice development. New Zealand Healthcare Summit 2009. 
7th and 8th October - Sky City Auckland

NZ Healthcare Summit is a two day event focusing on key issues in the funding, development, management, and productive use of New Zealand’s healthcare resources. Cutting Edge 2009. 
10-11 September 2009, Te Papa, Wellington.

Cutting Edge is the national conference for the addiction treatment sector. This year’s theme -- Our Place, Our Future -- reflects the challenges facing the addiction workforce as it tackles the issues of bringing alcohol, drug, gambling and tobacco cessation together into a more coherent service for the public. The conference will focus on treatment interventions that address wellness, recovery from dependence, and work with clients.
